Florida – According to Florida authorities, a recent court order handed down by Fifth Judicial Circuit Court Judge Timothi says statements made by a 15-year-old victim to forensic interviewer AIIie, of the child protection entity can now be used as evidence at his parent’s spouse’s se-ual battery trial.
The victim’s famiIy member, 35-year-old AIexis, has been charged with se-ual battery after allegedly engaging in se-ual activity with her spouses chiId, 15. The incident reportedly took place in July last year while the minor was visiting his parent in Florida.
Law enforcement reports state that the abuse happened after the woman’s two children had gone to bed. The victim and his steppmother were spending time together watching a movie and playing video games when the woman allegedly initiated se-ual contact. The victim’s parent came home unexpectedly and discovered them in a compromising situation. He intervened immediately and later took his son to his grandparents’ home.
After the incident, the victim was interviewed by forensic interviewer AIIie, a child protection agency. During the interview, the victim gave a detailed account of the events, including admitting to marijuana use on the night of the incident and in the months leading up to it. Fifth Judicial Circuit Court Judge ruled that these statements could be used as evidence in the upcoming trial, noting that the victim did not hesitate to share information that could reflect negatively on himself to provide an accurate description of what occurred.
The 35-year-old woman pleaded not guilty to the se-ual battery charge. Her nursing license has been suspended by the state Department of Health due to concerns about her moral character following the allegations.
According to the court documents, the unidentified victim told Florida authorities that he was on vacation and visiting his father for the summer when the se-ual assault occurred. The victim also told authorities that he spends the majority of the year with his mother in Washington, wa and visits his father in Florida twice a year.
According to the victim, his parent worked late hours as a Iineman and he was spending time with his parent’s spouse while she was taking care of his younger siblings. Around 11 p.m., the two of them began relaxing on the couch while using a THC cartridge together. Shortly after, they decided to watch a movie.
The victim and the defendant then began to talk about other things before the woman made se-ual advances toward the victim. They allegedly engaged in se-ual acts, including lntercourse. The teen told police that the woman had been making se-ual jokes for approximately a week leading up to the incident, per the affidavit.
