Eugene, OR – On May 8, at 4:50 p.m., Eugene Police responded to a three-vehicle crash at the intersection of Barger Drive and Dewey Street. The crash involved a Mazda CS50, a Toyota Camry, and a Kia Soul, resulting in multiple injuries. Eugene Springfield Fire medics were dispatched to the scene, and traffic was temporarily shut down on both sides of Barger Drive. The roads were reopened by 6:17 p.m.

Amy Elizabeth Sundquist, 48, of Noti, was driving the Kia Soul. She was transported to a local hospital for treatment of her injuries and was cited in lieu of custody for Driving Under the Influence of Intoxicants (DUII) and Reckless Driving.

The driver, a 59-year-old female, and a 22-year-old male passenger of the Mazda were also transported to a local hospital. Additionally, the 55-year-old female driver of the Toyota Camry was taken to a local hospital for medical attention.

According to reports, Sundquist had been observed speeding in an attempt to get in front of multiple vehicles traveling west on Barger Drive. The Toyota Camry, which was making a left turn onto Barger Drive from Golden Gardens Street, was struck by the Kia Soul, which had moved into a center lane to bypass the line of westbound vehicles. After hitting the Camry, the Kia Soul then collided with the Mazda CX-S traveling east on Barger Drive.
