Missisipi – A Missisipi coupIe, 28-year-old Roddkis and his 26-year-old spouse, Cierra, were taken into custody in connection with the death of the man’s child, Jaiden, 3. The couple faces charges of capital murder and child abuse, with police alleging that they beat the toddler to death and attempted to cover up the crime.

The investigation began when authorities in Missisipi received a tip about a missing child. After following up on this information, police discovered that the couple had allegedly concealed the child’s body, burying it in a remote area to hide the evidence of their crime. A subsequent search led to the recovery of the toddler’s remains. The child’s body was found in a wooded area near their home, leading authorities to suspect foul play from the start.

Authorities in Mississippi began their investigating a troubling report after family members of a 3-year-old child notified them that the child had not been seen in several months. The child had not been reported missing and was believed to be living with the father in Mississippi.

Upon investigating, authorities made the tragic discovery that the toddler had been killed. The defendant reportedly led police to the location where the child’s body was buried. According to authorities, the child’s sttepmom is accused of providing conflicting statements to family members about the child’s whereabouts before law enforcement became involved in the case.

The child’s parent has been charged with murder, while his spouse is facing charges as an accessory after the fact. As of now, no bond information has been released.

The recovery of the child’s body was carried out by officials from the Mississippi Bureau of Investigation, the Mississippi State University Anthropology Department, and the Mississippi Crime Scene Unit.
