Eugene Springfield Fire responds to commercial structure fire at Fred Meyer on Q St in Springfield

Eugene, OR – On Saturday, April 19, 2025, at approximately 6 p.m., Eugene Springfield Fire crews were dispatched to a reported commercial structure fire at the Fred Meyer store located on Q Street in Springfield.
Upon arrival, firefighters observed both fire and smoke emanating from the back of the store.
Crews quickly identified a pile of burning pallets and were able to contain the fire before it spread.
The fire is currently under investigation, but fortunately, no injuries have been reported. Firefighters acted swiftly to manage the situation and prevent further damage.
The cause of the fire remains undetermined at this time, and authorities are working to gather more information.
Eugene Springfield Fire officials are continuing to monitor the situation and will provide updates as the investigation progresses.
