Eugene City Manager to present amended 2025–2027 budget addressing $11.5 million gap

Eugene, OR – Eugene City Manager Sarah Medary will present the City’s 2025–2027 Proposed Budget to the Eugene Budget Committee on Wednesday, April 30, at 5:30 p.m. at City Hall. The presentation will include significant changes following a projected $11.5 million annual gap in the General Fund.

The original proposed budget, released earlier this week, included anticipated revenue from a Fire Service Fee. However, that fee has been referred to the ballot by petition, meaning the City cannot proceed with a budget based on that funding. As a result, an amended version of the proposed budget, addressing the full shortfall, will be released on Friday, April 25.

The City Manager’s updated proposal will reflect $11.5 million in annual reductions and will be the focus of the April 30 meeting. The Budget Committee will meet several more times to deliberate and gather public input.

• Wednesday, May 14 at 5:30 p.m. – Budget Deliberation and Public Comment

• Wednesday, May 21 at 5:30 p.m. – Budget Deliberation and Public Comment

• Wednesday, May 28 at 5:30 p.m. – Public Hearing and Recommendation to Council

• Monday, June 23 at 5:30 p.m. – City Council Public Hearing and Action
