Eugene, OR – At approximately 2:58 a.m. on April 7, Central Lane 911 received reports of shots fired near two locations. While responding, an officer was flagged down by a 35-year-old male resident at W. 15th Avenue and Jefferson Street, who reported being assaulted by two men. The suspects fled north on Jefferson Street, prompting multiple officers to search the area.

Two men, matching the descriptions of the suspects, were detained in the 500 block of W. 13th Avenue. One of the men, 23-year-old Emilio Jonathan Tobon, was found in possession of a concealed firearm. Tobon, a convicted felon, was prohibited from owning a firearm. A subsequent search uncovered more than 33 grams of suspected cocaine, packaging materials, and a large sum of currency.

Investigators discovered that Tobon, along with 21-year-old Devon Roy Doster and an unidentified third man, had been setting off fireworks when confronted by a homeowner holding a bat. The situation escalated, with Tobon allegedly assaulting the homeowner before fleeing.

Tobon was charged with multiple offenses, including delivery and possession of cocaine, felon in possession of a firearm, and harassment. Doster was charged with disorderly conduct. Both men were transported to Lane County Jail.
