Fire crews respond to commercial structure fire on River Rd, rescue pet from blaze
Eugene, OR – Eugene Springfield Fire crews responded to a commercial structure fire in Eugene’s River Road area on February 10th.
Firefighters were called to a reported fire at an insurance office in the 900 block of River Road at 5:47 PM.
Callers reported flames and broken windows, with bystanders attempting to put out the fire using portable extinguishers.
Fire crews from Stations 2 and 11 arrived within five minutes to find heavy fire in a strip mall building.
Firefighters quickly attacked the blaze and conducted a search of the affected business, successfully rescuing a pet from the premises.
The fire is now under control, and the cause is under investigation.
