Eugene Springfield Fire responds to engine fire in Sanipac truck on Videra Dr

Eugene, OR – On Friday, January 31, at 1:17 PM, Eugene Springfield Fire crews were dispatched to the 3300 block of Videra Dr in West Eugene for an engine fire in a Sanipac truck.
Upon arrival, Engine 10 (E10) found an engine fire behind the truck’s cab, which had breached a window and spread into the cab.
Crews quickly set a wheel chock under the truck’s tires to prevent it from rolling downhill.
With assistance from the truck’s driver, they raised the cab to fully extinguish the flames.
A water supply was established from a nearby hydrant, and the fire was brought under control in about 12 minutes.
