Eugene Police arrest suspect in stabbing, charges include attempted murder

Eugene, OR – Eugene Police responded to a stabbing at 1:44 AM on January 26, after a call was made to Central Lane 911. Officers found the 47-year-old victim near Jackson’s Market at 1080 W. 7th Avenue.
The suspect had fled the scene. The victim was transported to a local hospital for treatment.
A K9 unit and Eugene Police officers searched the area, and the Violent Crimes Unit was called in.
The suspect, 41-year-old Nicholas Matthew Arnold, was located and arrested without incident.
He was taken to Lane County Jail and faces charges of Attempted Murder, Assault in the First Degree, and Unlawful Use of a Weapon.
Arnold is also a suspect in a previous stabbing and was additionally lodged on charges related to that incident, including Assault in the Second Degree and Unlawful Use of a Weapon. He also had a misdemeanor assault case from last year.
