ESF crews responded to structure fire on Jacobs Lane after reports of smoke potentially coming from the kitchen area

Eugene, OR – Per reports, Eugene Springfield Fire crews responded to a structure fire at 1202 Jacobs Lane, at the Solvang Retirement Center, after reports of smoke potentially coming from the kitchen area.
Two engines, one ladder truck, and a battalion chief were dispatched to the scene, where they found residents evacuating the building.
Upon conducting a thorough search, it was determined that soiled rags had begun to smolder, causing a light smoke condition.
The situation was quickly brought under control, and no injuries were reported.
