Albuquerque, N.M. – According to the police officials, the 38-year-old man from California, later identified as Zacary, was arrested and later charged with multiple charges, including murder, robbery, felon in possession of a firearm and other charges following his 10-day crime spree. Police officials say the crime spree occurred several months after the 38-year-old man was released on parole after serving time for robbery. He was sentenced to 23 years in prison in 2019 only to later have part of his sentence commuted by a judge, court records say.

Police officials released a statement, saying that the crime spree reportedly began in the last day of July after the suspect robbed a bank. Shortly after the robbery, the suspect cut off his ankle monitor and headed to another city where he robbed and murdered 82-year-old G0rdon. Shortly after he killed the much older man, the suspect stole his vehicle and drove away.

Several days later, the suspect and an unidentified woman reportedly entered a fast food restaurant and pointed a gun at an employee and demanded money. After the robbery, both suspects forced another woman to get out of her vehicle, while pointing a weapon at her. Shortly after the carjacking, they crashed the vehicle and both suspects fled on foot. The 38-year-old man was taken into custody and the woman was able to escape.

Shortly after his arrest, authorities searched his home and found the vehicle he used to rob a bank. Police chief PauI reportedly said: ‘This is a gentleman who never should have been out, he shouldn’t be on the streets right now. He was sentenced to what I understand to be 20 years. He was put on parole, released early. He cut off his ankle monitor and immediately began wreaking havoc.”
