Eugene, OR – According to the statement, the City of Eugene’s Stormwater Education program and Urban Forestry team have launched a new resource to help community members care for trees on their property during the peak of summer heat.

The “How to Water Your Trees” guide provides best practices for maintaining the health of private trees and those in public rights of way.

It covers topics such as appropriate watering techniques based on tree age, making an irrigation bucket, optimal water placement, common watering mistakes, and effective pruning and fertilizing.

“Trees are vital to Eugene—not only for their beauty and shade but also for their role in improving livability, combating climate issues, and filtering stormwater before it reaches our waterways,” said Kathy Eva, lead of the Stormwater Education program.
