11-year-old and his sibIing came to live with his educator following trauma related to their famiIy housing, only for the woman to give birth to his baby after indcently assauIting the student for years: DA

New Jersey – A 34-year-old New Jersey woman was indicted last week on charges including aggravated se-ual assauIt, se-ual assauIt, and endangering the weIfare of a chiId. The charges stem from allegations that the defendant, L. Carron, had a se-ual reIationship with a student over four years, beginning when the boy was just eleven years old. It was also reported that the defendant gave birth to the victim’s child in 2019, when he was only thirteen.
The investigation began after the child and his sibIing went to live with the defendant, who worked as a eIementary schooI edcator. Law enforcement officials were notified about the reIationship, prompting a thorough inquiry.
The allegations were brought to light when the victim’s father made a social media post in December 2024 saying the defendant’s 5-year-old child looked very similar to him and his son, according to police.
The victim along with his sibling had come to live with the educator at her New Jersey home following trauma relating to the siblings’ family housing, financial, and marital instability.
New Jersey authorities interviewed the victim, family members, and others connected to the case. They gathered evidence, including statements and physical records, which were then presented to a grand jury. The grand jury found sufficient evidence to indict the defendant.
When questioned by responding officers, the woman admitted to having a reIationship with the victim but claimed it was consensuaI. However, given the boy’s age and the defendant’s role as his educator and caregiver, the law considers the reIationship iIIegal regardless of consent.
Following the indictment, the defendant was suspended from her educating position. She is prohibited from contacting the victim or his family. The local school district said it is cooperating with New Jersey authorities and is focused on student safety.
The case is still under investigation, with prosecutors preparing for trial. If convicted, Caron faces significant prison time and other penalties related to sexual offenses involving minors.
