House fire reported in Zumwalt Rural Fire Protection District near Eugene
Eugene, OR – Eugene Springfield Fire responded early Monday, February 2, to a house fire at the intersection of Fisher Road and Royal Avenue in the Zumwalt Rural Fire Protection District, west of Eugene, Oregon.
A passerby reported the fire just before 3 a.m., describing flames taller than the house.
Crews arrived to find the home fully involved. Engine 7 from Barger was first on scene and began a defensive attack.
Two occupants were found outside and transported to Riverbend Medical Center in stable condition.
In total, five engines, two tenders, one truck, two medics, two chiefs, two fire marshals, and one support unit responded.
Lane Fire Authority also provided an engine and medic to assist. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
