Eugene police arrest man after hitting tavern at 4711 West 11th Avenue

Eugene, OR – Eugene Police officers responded to The Keg Tavern at 4711 West 11th Avenue following reports of a vehicle collision and erratic behavior.
At approximately 11:23 p.m., a Buick LeSabre reversed into a Volkswagen Passat before accelerating forward, nearly hitting a pedestrian standing near the building. The vehicle then struck the building itself before fleeing the scene.
An officer later located the suspect vehicle near the driver’s residence. The officer noticed the vehicle honking nearby and confirmed it matched the description of the suspect car. The driver, identified as 39-year-old Zach James Dolan, pulled into a cul-de-sac and exited the vehicle.
Despite repeated commands from the officer, Dolan refused to comply, insulted the officer, and attempted to leverage connections with Eugene Police personnel. When Dolan continued to ignore commands, including warnings about the potential use of force, the officer deployed pepper spray to bring him into custody.
Following the incident, an investigation revealed that Dolan was under the influence. He was arrested and transported to Lane County Jail on multiple charges, including DUII, Resisting Arrest, Reckless Endangering, Reckless Driving, and two counts of Hit and Run.
The case remains under review.
