Eugene Springfield Fire responds to duplex fire in West Eugene
Eugene, OR – Eugene Springfield Fire crews responded to a house fire in West Eugene on the morning of March 25.
Just before 11:30 a.m., firefighters were called to a duplex in the 4400 block of Marcum Lane after callers reported heavy black smoke coming from one side of the building.
Engine 8 from the Danebo Station arrived approximately three and a half minutes after dispatch and found a working fire in the kitchen.
Crews immediately began fire suppression, while additional personnel conducted search and ventilation operations.
Officials said one occupant was transported to a local hospital in serious condition. No other injuries were reported, and the cause of the fire is under investigation.
