26-year-old motorcyclist injured in crash on Oak Patch Road
Eugene, OR – A 26-year-old motorcyclist was injured Tuesday afternoon following a collision with a vehicle on Oak Patch Road, according to the Eugene Police Department.
Police said the crash was reported at 2:57 p.m. on February 3 in the 1600 block of Oak Patch Road and involved a Yamaha R6L motorcycle and a Ford Fiesta. Investigators determined the Fiesta’s driver was exiting an apartment complex parking lot and turning southbound onto Oak Patch Road when the motorcycle, traveling northbound, attempted to stop.
The motorcyclist struck the driver’s side door of the Fiesta and was briefly trapped underneath the vehicle before being pulled out by bystanders. He was transported to a local hospital, where he was listed in stable condition.
A secondary crash occurred near the scene during the response, but medics were not needed. Police said the driver of the Ford Fiesta remained at the scene and that intoxication was not a factor in the crash.
