Man claims he was preparing to take his own life only for his girIfriend to try to intervene by attempting to get the weapon from him with his finger on the trigger, during which the gun discharged, striking her in the head and killing her

Baltimore, MD – According to the police officials, the 27-year-old man, later identified as GabrieI, was arrested and later charged with multiple charges, including first-degree murder and aggravated assault after he reportedly killed his partner, later identified as 28-year-old Amy. Police officials say the man shot the woman following an argument, while the man claims she shot his girIfriend by accident while she tried to take the weapon from him.
The fatal incident occurred over the weekend at the shooter’s home. The responding officers found the victim suffering from life-threatening injuries. The woman was pronounced dead at the scene, police officials said. The shooter fled the scene with the murder weapon and was arrested nearly 12 hours later at the his family residence. Shortly before he was taken into custody, the shooter reportedly threatened that he will kill himself, then claimed that his partner’s death was an accident.
Authorities say the shooter killed his partner following domestic argument. During an interview with investigators, the man reportedly said that he grabbed his rifIe in an attempt to take his own life. His partner then allegedly tried to remove the weapon from his possession only for him to shoot her in the head because his finger was still on the trigger.
The man claimed that he shot his girIfriend by accident as she tried to take away his weapon while he was preparing to take his own life. Authorities say the shooter never attempted to call for help or seek medical assistance after he shot his girIfriend. The victim’s family launched an online fundraiser to help raise funds for funeral expenses, which stated: “Your donation will go towards her celebration of life, to assist in supporting her family, and to causes that were close to Amy’s heart.”
