Colorado – According to the court documents, the 41-year-old defendant from Wyoming, Case, who killed the 29-year-old woman from Montana, RacheI, was found guilty of first-degree murder, second-degree kidnapping and other charges in connection to the crime. Prosecutors claim that in Nov. 2021, the defendant shot the woman in the head before leaving her body in a remote part, where he thought nobody would find it. He was sentenced to life in prison without parole, court records say.

According to the court documents, the defendant, two others involved, who were also convicted and sentenced in connection with the crime, and the victim reportedly traveled to Colorado for what turned out to be a drug run. Prosecutors said that at some point, the victim went missing. Authorities launched an investigation and discovered that sometime during the drug run, the victim was to be brought to the defendant and his associate, ShanteI.

The second involved, Leo, also came at the meeting because his girlfriend and her sick child were at the hospital in which parking they held the meeting. The victim was then placed in a vehicle with the defendants before it drove away. The defendant reportedly waned to leave the victim in the middle of nowhere so she could walk back because he was angry that she ‘tried to go around him to get direct contact with a supplier’.

But, during the trip, the defendant pulled out his gun and shot the victim in the head. Another driver, who reportedly drove the defendant and ShanteI back to the city, reportedly told investigators that the defendant ‘had a fit of rage saying that he killed her’. Leo is facing a prison sentence of no more than 10 to 32 years. ShanteI also pleaded guilty and is currently serving 18 years in prison, followed by 5 years of parole.
