Eugene Springfield Fire responded to two separate fires within about 30 minutes on Friday afternoon

Eugene, OR – According to the statement, at 1:12 PM on June 28, firefighters were called to a structure fire at Edgewood Home Furnishings, located at 155 Division Ave in North Eugene.
Upon arrival, firefighters found an exterior corner of the building ablaze. The fire was quickly contained to the area of origin.
Witnesses reported that the fire might have been set intentionally, prompting an investigation by ESF Fire Marshals.
Shortly after, at 1:47 PM, firefighters were dispatched to a grass fire at 384 Wallis St in West Eugene.
Crews arriving from Station 8 encountered a rapidly spreading grass fire.
Thanks to their swift response, the fire was limited to about 0.15 acres. The cause of this fire is also under investigation.
Both incidents highlight the quick action and effectiveness of the Eugene Springfield Fire teams in protecting the community.
