ESF crews respond to vehicle crash into Springfield building, rescue occupant in cardiac arrest
Eugene, OR – Eugene Springfield Fire responded to a single vehicle crash into a building, promptly arriving at the scene to provide critical assistance.
The incident occurred at 1532 32nd Street in Springfield, with emergency services being notified at 9:35 AM.
Upon arrival, fire and EMS crews discovered the vehicle partially embedded into a metal manufacturing building.
The crew on Tower 3 quickly deployed their winch to pull the vehicle back from the structure, utilizing hydraulic tools to gain rapid access to the victim inside.
The occupant of the vehicle was found in cardiac arrest, leading responders to believe that a life-threatening medical event may have precipitated the crash.
Eugene Springfield Fire crews provided advanced life support on the scene, successfully resuscitating the victim before transporting them to a medical facility for further care.
The swift and coordinated efforts of the emergency responders were crucial in addressing both the immediate danger posed by the crash and the urgent medical needs of the victim.
