Eugene Springfield Fire, in collaboration with staff from the Oregon State Fire Marshal, recently conducted Defensible Space Assessments for 13 homeowners in Springfield
Eugene, OR – According to the officials, these assessments are crucial in educating homeowners on effective measures to increase the chances of their homes surviving a wildfire.
During the assessments, homeowners received personalized advice on how to create a defensible space around their properties. One straightforward yet significant recommendation given to most homeowners was to remove combustible vegetation growing against their homes. This simple action can dramatically reduce the risk of fire spreading to their houses.
