The City, in collaboration with the U.S. Department of Justice, seek community input on three finalists for an Independent Monitor

Portland, OR – According to the statement, officials are now in the process of interviewing candidates, with input from community stakeholders including the Albina Ministerial Alliance Coalition, the Mental Health Alliance, the Portland Committee on Community-Engaged Policing, and the Portland Police Association, to narrow down the candidate pool to three finalists.
The next part of the process includes a community forum for the three finalists, who will be announced no later than February 27.
This community forum will be held on March 12 from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. and will be a hybrid meeting to allow for both in-person participation at the Portland Building and virtual participation.
Each candidate will provide a 15-minute presentation of their team and their proposal, followed by a facilitated Q&A with the community.
Further details will be provided in advance of the meeting.
