Man arrested after hitting two cars and fleeing the scene in Junction City
Daniel Robert Krebs, 44, has been arrested and charged after hitting two vehicles in Junction City Saturday night and then fleeing the scene.
Junction City police say he was driving under the influence of methamphetamine when he hit the first vehicle going southbound on HWY 99. He kept driving after the crash and hit another vehicle further down the highway.
After hitting the second vehicle, Krebs fled the scene again and ditched his truck on the side of the road.
Luckily a witness saw the crash, followed Krebs at a safe distance, and was able to call the police. Junction City Police officers were able to locate Krebs walking down Prarie road.
The victims in both cars were transported to McKenzie Willamette Medical Center and went home with non-life-threatening injuries Saturday night.
Krebs is currently being housed in the Lane County Jail and charged with assault in the second degree, hit and run (felony), reckless driving, DUII, and others.
