Woman, who visited her friend for the weekend only to kill one of her babies and leave the other with serious injuries, could face the capitaI punishment

Los Angeles, CA – According to the court documents, the 30-year-old defendant, NicoIe, who is reportedly responsible for inflicting a fracture to her ‘close friend’s 1 months-old baby and also severely injured the victim’s baby brother, could face the capitaI punishment, court records. Court documents filed last week reportedly show that the DA’s Office is seeking the death penalty against the defendant. The filing stated: ‘The defendant committed the killing while in the perpetration of a felony and the offense was committed by means of torture.’
Prosecutors claim the defendant visited her friend’s home in Pennsylvania for the weekend, where she killed one of her babies and left the other with serious injuries. Prosecutors also said the defendant killed the baby while the baby’s parents were in the hospital with their other baby, whose injuries were also inflicted by the ‘close family friend’.
According to the court documents, the 30-year-old woman was babysitting her friend’s 1-month-old baby while the newborn’s parents went to the hospital with the victim’s tvvin brother so he could be treated for injuries. The other baby’s injuries were also allegedly caused by the defendant. On the fatal night, June 15, the defendant called the authorities and reportedly said that the child fell from the baby’s bed and hit his head. The baby was rushed to the hospital with severe injuries and pronounced dead at the hospital.
The baby’s sibling was rushed to the hospital the same day with severe injuries to his genitaI area, court records say. The medical examiner told authorities that the victim’s injuries were as a result of child abuse, as these are inflicted injuries that are not natural and not accidental. During an interview with investigators, the woman couldn’t provide any explanation for the baby’s injuries. She reportedly sat that she left the child alone so she could get a bottle from the kitchen, and when she returned, the baby was on the floor with a bump on his head.
