San Antonio, TX – A 27-year-old mother from Florida, NicoIe, has been sentenced to 15 years in prison after pleading guilty to injury to a child resulting in serious bodily injury in connection with the death of her 5-year-old son, Dominic. According to court documents, NicoIe was aware that her boyfriend, 29-year-old Danil, was regularly beating and abusing her son, but she failed to intervene, ultimately leading to the child’s death. The boy’s body was later discovered buried in the Colorado mountains.

As part of a plea deal, NicoIe was required to testify against her then boyfriend, who has been convicted of injury to a child resulting in death. During the trial, she revealed that she had met Daniel online and that they had initially lived in Florida before moving to Texas. At the time of their move, NicoIe had her son, Dominic, and her boyfriend had a daughter. NicoIe testified that after moving to Texas, the man began physically abusing Dominic, claiming that she wasn’t doing enough to discipline the boy.

NicoIe described how her boyfriend would beat her child for trivial reasons, such as not responding quickly enough, not staying quiet, or not eating his food fast enough. In July 2021, the abuse escalated when the family was staying at a hotel. The mother’s then boyfriend threw Dominic against a wall, causing him to bounce off and later vomit dark blood. The boy died several hours later.

Instead of seeking help, Nicolle and her then boyfriend drove to a remote area and buried Dominic’s body. NicoIe later told investigators that she did not stop the abuse because she was too desperate to be in a relationship. The mother’s boyfriend is scheduled to be sentenced next week and could face life in prison.
