The City of Eugene will help fund innovative, affordable housing with $1 million from the Affordable Housing Trust Fund
Eugene, OR – City officials have announced that project proposals can be submitted through March 1, 2024.
According to the statement, the Affordable Housing Trust Fund is a local source of funding generated by a 0.5% construction excise tax on new construction in Eugene.
Funds are used to support the creation of local housing that is affordable to people with low and moderate incomes the city of Eugene.
In 2023, the Eugene City Council approved $1.2 million in trust fund investments to support three affordable housing projects.
This year, just over $1 million in AHTF is available for innovative local housing projects.
Projects designed to transition people out of homelessness as well as projects serving populations disproportionately impacted by housing cost burden and historically excluded from housing opportunities such as BIPOC, LGBTQI+ residents/communities and high priority special needs populations are preferred.
