SchoIar was repeatedly reassured by his teaccher that she was good for the money owed, who also provided detailed information about the schedules of her spouse after approaching the boy and asking him to kiII the man; charges
Ohio – An Ohio replacement educator was arrested last week and charged with feIony conspracy to commit murder. Authorities allege that the woman attempted to soIicit a high schooI student to kiII her spouse amid their ongoing separation proceedings.
On March 26, 2025, the defendant, later identified as 44-year-old Stefanie, reportedly approached an unidentified scholar at the Academy for Urrban Scholars High School, offering money (two thousand dollars) to kill her spouse. She allegedly provided a 10% down payment and discussed specifics, including her partner’s work-from-home schedule and times when their family members would be away, to facilitate the crime.
The plot was uncovered when the student’s mother discovered incriminating text messages on their phone and alerted authorities. A recorded conversation between the educator and the student further corroborated the allegations, with the woman reassuring the student about the remaining payment and discussing logistics.
Following the student’s report, authorities in Ohio initiated an investigation, during which the woman’s involvement in the alleged plot was uncovered. At her arraignment, her public defender denied the charges, labeling them as fabricated. The defendant is currently being held on a $150,000 bond, with conditions that she have no contact with her estranged partner or the scholar involved. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for April 11, 2025.
Court records indicate that the woman filed for divorce from her husband, CarIington, in April 2024. Previously, in September 2017, she had filed for divorce, but that case was later closed. The couple has children together, and the defendant’s spouse has previously sought emergency custody, citing allegations of assault, arson, and property damage involving the woman
Following her arrest, the high school terminated her employment. The school expressed its commitment to maintaining a secure learning environment and is cooperating with Ohio authorities in the ongoing investigation.
