RCC to begin ‘limited’ on-campus learning in the fall
Rogue Community College on Tuesday outlined its tentative plan for fall classes, one that will include some on-campus learning for specific courses.
Most fall classes will be offered online, but there will be some in-person lab instruction for science and career technical courses “that require hands-on learning that cannot be duplicated online,” RCC said in a statement. The on-campus courses will be noted in the fall schedule on the school’s website.
Even those limited on-campus options will depend on further guidance from state or local public health authorities, RCC said.
“If conditions of the COVID-19 pandemic change and make it impossible to keep campuses open, RCC will return to an all-online model,” school administrators said.
RCC said that school faculty are working to make those online courses live up to the level of instruction that would ordinarily be found on campus.
When and if students do return to campus, RCC says that it will require everyone to wear facial coverings and maintain social distancing of six feet.
“Every precaution for safety of students, staff and visitors will be taken. All areas and surfaces used by students or staff will be cleaned and sanitized daily,” RCC said. “Everyone’s cooperation will help us to keep the campuses open and will be greatly appreciated.”
Registration is currently open for fall term, with the term set to begin on September 21.
