People are stunned with their 23-year age gap – Can you tell which one is the daughter and which one is the mother?

A child inherits traits from both parents, but very often, daughters look like their mothers. Some of you have surely been told they are a copy of your mother, but a mother and daughter from California have shocked the world! They are constantly mistaken for sisters on social media, and netizens were stunned when they revealed their 23-year-old age difference!
The gorgeous mother, Joleen Diaz, 43, and her equally gorgeous daughter Meilani Parks, 19, are very close and regularly spend quality time together. Mother Joleen Diaz, 43 and daughter Meilani Parks, 19, are often mistaken for sisters on social media.
Joleen, an elementary school teacher, explained that her youthful skin is a result of a good, yet old-fashioned lifestyle:
“I have always lived healthy and have an active lifestyle. It’s rare for me to drink alcohol. I take a lot of rest, eat a healthy and balanced diet.”
People are even more confused because they spend a lot of quality time together She adds that they are very close with her daughter, “and we do a lot of things together, shop, work out and travel. Most at times, we just lay on the couch and talk.’ Yet, she adds they don’t go clubbing or partying together and does not see them “ doing that anytime in the near future.”
The mother explained that her young-looking skin is a result of her healthy lifestyle. This bond is the main reason why Meilani doesn’t get offended when people believe her mother is her sister.
Joleen said:
“I don’t think she actually minds. While growing up, she hears people tell me thought my mother was my sister. I was very young when I gave birth to her, so it’s not impossible that we could be sisters. I religiously take proper care of my skin and every day I wash my face in the morning and before going to bed. I started taking care of my skin at a tender age, around 12. My mom buys Mary Kay and I would secretly use her skin products. A product that has since shown dramatic change for me is Tretinoin. A lot of people know it as Retin-A. I have been using it for a year now and my skin gets better and better.”
Joleen adds that sun protection is essential for the health of the skin, and living in California, she uses sunscreen daily, even on “ cloudy, rainy days”, and a vitamin C serum day and night. She now insists that her daughter follows her rigorous routine in order to ensure the health of her skin. In the end, Joleen believes that her youthful and radiant skin and glow are due to her relaxed attitude in life.
