Parent left toddler sIeeping in his vehicle in front of the family driveway while going inside, only to return 30-60 minutes later and find the 2-year-old girl unresponsive, later pronounced dead

Phoenix, AZ – According to the police officials, the 37-year-old dad, later identified as Cris, reportedly said that he left his 2-year-old toddler inside his vehicle in the family driveway only to return a while after and find his daughter not breathing. The parent told investigators that he left the alr conditioning running, but realized that it had shut off when he came back for his child.
The responding officers said the parent went inside the family home and left the 2-year-old girl, Parcer, alone in the vehicle while the temperature was 110 Fahrenheit. The 2-year-old child was rushed to the hospital, where her mom, later identified as 35-year-old Erica, worked. The child was pronounced dead shortly after arriving at the hospital.
The responding officers also discovered that the 2-year-old toddler was left sleeping in the vehicle for 30-60 minutes before the parent came back to the vehicle. Police officials told local news outlet: “All we know is that it was a hot car. The child was unresponsive, it was very hot, and it’s very tragic. He left the child in the car. The car was running, the AC was operational. We are trying to determine how long he was in the house, at what time the car may have shut off or the AC stopped working. We don’t know the circumstances, we are trying to find that out.”
Police officials also said that it remains unclear exactly how long the child was in the hot car, and how long since the car and air-conditioning turned off. It also remains unclear why the parent went inside the home and left his cjhild in the car for that period of time. To date no charges have been made as authorities continue to investigate.
