ODFW announced that bay clamming is now open statewide, and mussel harvesting has reopened from Coos Bay north jetty to the California border

Eugene, OR – According to the Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife officials, this decision follows two consecutive tests showing biotoxin levels below the closure limit in these areas.
Harvesters are advised to always check the Shellfish Safety Hotline at 1-800-448-2474 or visit the ODA Recreational Shellfish Biotoxin Closures Webpage before collecting shellfish to ensure safety.
However, mussel harvesting remains closed from Coos Bay north jetty to the Washington border due to high levels of the marine biotoxin paralytic shellfish poison (PSP). Similarly, razor clamming is closed from Yachats to Coos Bay because of elevated PSP and domoic acid levels.
**Current Harvest Closures and Openings:**
**Bay Clams:**
– Open coastwide.
**Mussels:**
– Open from Coos Bay north jetty to the California border.
– Closed from Coos Bay north jetty to the Washington border.
**Razor Clams:**
– Open from the Washington border to Yachats River.
– Closed from Yachats River to Coos Bay north jetty.
– Open from Coos Bay north jetty to the California border.
