No more hazardous chemicals – Clean your bathtub with 2 simple ingredients for a shiny clean result
Like the toilet, the bathtub can be one of the less pleasant areas that needs to be cleaned in the home. It gets dirty so quickly and often discoloration and lime deposits build up – getting rid of all those ugly spots can be such a tough job that requires both time and energy. People who live in Florida and Texas won’t have a problem getting the first ingredient, it basically grows on trees.
We often resort to using expensive chemicals to scrub the bathtub which are not good for us to inhale. But imagine if all these issues could be solved with a grapefruit? It may sound like madness, but when I saw the end result, I just had to share. All thanks to this smart mom!
You may have heard that various citrus fruits can act as effective and environmentally friendly cleaning agents. But what many do not think about is that instead of mixing fruit juice in a spray bottle, it’s easier to use the fruit as a sponge. And while lemon and vinegar seem to be the more recommended natural cleaners, there’s nothing like the smell of fresh grapefruit.
You’ll need the following ingredients:
- 1 grapefruit
- 1/4 cup coarse kosher salt
Then do the following:
- Cut your grapefruit in half. Then sprinkle salt on both halves.
- Rinse the bathtub and sprinkle the rest of the salt on the bottom of the bathtub.
- Now take one grapefruit half and use it as a sponge to scrub the bathtub. As you’ll quickly see, it gives a surprisingly good result.
When you’re done, rinse thoroughly and dirt and limescale stains will be a thing of the past and your bathtub will feel brand new again! You can use this handy cleaning trick to make your shower head and faucets shine again. And not only is your bathroom shiny and bright but smells delicious!
