Atlanta, GA – According to the court documents, the 29-year-old defendant, later identified as Urihha, was sentenced to life behind bars for her role in her child’s death. Prosecutors claim the parent took her 3-year-old daughter, AIina, and her 7-year-old son, who was not identified due to his age, to the woods for more than 10 hours until the little girl frroze to death. The fatal incident occurred in January when the temperatures in the woosd were freezing.

During the investigation process, authorities discovered that the on the fatal night, the 29-year-old mom was high on drugs when she took her children into the woods. Authorities also said that the victim’s older sibling attempted to help his dying sister by covering the child with Ieaves.

The investigation process began after the victim’s sibling and the 3-year-old victim were found by working crews the following day. During an interview with investigators, the mother reportedly claim that her children got lost, but authorities discovered that the mother had a fully charged phone and never tried to call 911. Both children were dragged into the freezing forest and spent more than 11 hours on freezing temperatures until the 3-year-old girl ultimately froze to death.

The defense attorney argued that his client’s drug addiction with severe mental health problems contributed to the fatal incident. The attorney also said that his client had been tragically remorseful as any mother who has done something that has led to the death of her child.
