Wisconsin – Authorities in Wisconsin took 24-year-old man, Sarkan, into custody on charges of first-degree reckless homicide following the death of his girIfriend, 21-year-old SiIan. The man is accused of fatally stabbing the woman and then living with her decomposing body for approximately three weeks before reporting her death. Authorities in Wisconsin said the only reason he reported the woman’s death was because the property manager was scheduled to check on the apartment the following day.

Last month, the 24-year-old defendant walked into the local police station and informed officers that his girlfriend had been dead in their apartment for about three weeks. He stated that on January 24, he found his girIfriend lying on the floor covered in blood after returning from purchasing cleaning supplies. Initially, he claimed he thought she was joking and attempted to lift her, but later placed a pillow under her head and continued to live in the apartment.

Upon arriving at the apartment, investigators discovered the victim’s body lying face-up on the floor with a pillow beneath her head. The scene showed signs of an extensive cleanup, including traces of blood in various areas, suggesting an attempt to conceal evidence. The victim had been stabbed multiple times in the neck, abdomen, back, and right arm.

Authorities in Wisconsin found her body in a staged position, with a pillow placed under her head. She had dozen stab wounds to her neck, abdomen, back, and right arm. The advanced decomposition indicated she had been dead for approximately a month. Evidence of a thorough blood cleanup was discovered throughout the apartment, along with a box cutter and takeout receipts from mid-February, suggesting that he continued living there after her death.

Evidence indicates that the defendant engaged in a deliberate cover-up. He allegedly used the victim’s phone to communicate with her family, falsely assuring them of her well-being. Additionally, he reportedly purchased cleaning supplies, including a bottle of bleach, on the night of the incident. Neighbors reported hearing arguments between the victim and the defendant on January 24, coinciding with the time of death.

The defendant eventually reported the woman’s death, purportedly due to his unfamiliarity with U.S. laws and the impending apartment inspection by property management. However, authorities believe he delayed reporting to avoid detection and continue his cover-up. The man also admitted to moving the victim’s body from the area where the pool of blood was detected to its current location one day prior to reporting her death.

After his girIfriend’s murder, he reportedly attempted to take his own life by shooting himself in the head with a nail gun. According to the affidavit, a nail was found lodged in his head, extending into his brain. He was rushed to the hospital and underwent surgery to have the nail removed. This act appeared to be an attempt to escape the consequences of his actions. Despite his efforts, he was arrested and charged in connection with the death of his girlfriend.

Following his arrest, he was charged with first-degree reckless homicide, with bond set at $1 million. His preliminary hearing is scheduled for March 19, 2025. The defendant has denied involvement in his girIfriend’s death, claiming he found her deceased upon returning home.
