Local hospital officials are urging the public to protect themselves and others from COVID-19
Dr. James McGovern, Vice President of Medical Affairs for the PeaceHealth Oregon network says right now their staffing is adequate, but they are concerned about the flu season with COVID-19 on top of that.
Speaking to the City Club of Eugene, McGovern said their staff gets sick too, just like other community members, “so making sure that our staff and the community wash hands, wear masks, socially distance keep those holiday gatherings small to prevent the spread helps us both maintain hospital capacity to care for the community and keep our staff healthy so they can come to work and help take care of people as well.”
