Eugene police detain four after shots fired in Barger area, investigation ongoing

Eugene, OR – Eugene Police officers responded to a reported dispute in the 2100 block of Amirante Street at 12:25 a.m. on March 25.
Shortly after, callers reported hearing gunshots, prompting additional officers to respond in emergency mode.
Witnesses saw four males leaving the area in a white sedan. Officers canvassed the scene and discovered spent shell casings but found no evidence that the residence or any vehicles had been struck.
Residents of the home reported being confronted by individuals outside, and investigators believe one person fired a gun into the air.
While searching for the suspect vehicle, officers located a white sedan in a parking lot at Empire Park and Barger Drive.
The vehicle was occupied by four males, ranging in age from 16 to 18, who were detained without incident. A consent search of the vehicle yielded no firearms.
Three of the individuals were arrested for disorderly conduct, while the fourth was cited and released to a parent. Authorities continue to investigate the source of the gunfire.
