ESF swears in four experienced firefighters joining from across western Oregon
Eugene, OR – Eugene Springfield Fire recently held a rare swearing-in ceremony welcoming four experienced firefighters from across western Oregon to its department.
According to Eugene Springfield Fire, the new members brought significant skills and prior experience to the agency and successfully completed an accelerated orientation program. Officials said the firefighters performed exceptionally well during training and are now ready to join their assigned crews.
The department noted that the hiring reflects a broader trend across the West Coast, where highly trained firefighters remain in high demand. Officials said recruiting experienced personnel helps strengthen response capabilities and ensures crews are prepared for emergency operations.
