Arrests made after suspects block traffic and vandalize buildings in Eugene
Eugene, OR – Eugene Police responded to a group of protesters engaging in disruptive behavior on Friday, May 2, 2025, near the Campbell Community Center in Campbell Park.
Authorities were alerted to the event after learning of an unknown group planning to meet in the area after dark. Due to the nature of the event and the potential safety risks, Eugene Police activated its Mobile Response Team (MRT) and Investigations Division to ensure traffic and property safety.
At approximately 9:07 p.m., officers observed 30 individuals wearing black clothing and face coverings, marching southbound on High Street. The group blocked traffic and engaged in disorderly conduct. Two individuals were seen spray-painting profanity on the wall of Eateries Bar, located at 5th Avenue and High Street.

When the group made their way to Pearl Street, officers attempted to intervene. Upon seeing the police, several suspects attempted to flee. MRT was able to detain one of the primary suspects, 35-year-old Eliza George Oswald of Eugene, shortly after. Additional suspects were apprehended nearby, including 45-year-old Ian Matthes Moore, 30-year-old Hailey Noel Kriens, and 25-year-old Ella Emily Rohweder.
