Governor Tina Kotek issues statement on second quarter revenue forecast, warns of several challenges affecting Oregon’s financial future and economic outlook
Oregon – Governor Tina Kotek issued a statement in response to the state’s second quarter revenue forecast, addressing Oregon’s budget outlook and ongoing economic pressures affecting residents.
In her statement, Governor Kotek said Oregonians are experiencing financial strain due to high fuel prices and rising inflation. She attributed broader economic challenges in part to federal policy conditions, while emphasizing the importance of maintaining fiscal stability at the state level.
“Oregonians are feeling the financial pressure from high fuel prices and escalating inflation driven by the Trump administration’s conflict with Iran, so I’m thankful that Oregon is maintaining a balanced budget to protect core services,” Kotek said.
The Governor also emphasized her administration’s focus on supporting families facing increased costs of living and strengthening the state’s long-term economic foundation. She said the goal is to reduce the impact of economic instability on Oregon households while continuing to protect essential public services.
“My focus is on driving solutions for families struggling to make ends meet and strengthening Oregon’s economic foundation to reduce harmful impacts of unstable federal policies,” she said.
The statement comes as state officials continue to review revenue projections and assess how broader economic conditions may affect future budgeting decisions.
