EPD arrests suspect after truck stolen at knifepoint on W. 11th Avenue
Eugene, OR – The Eugene Police Department arrested a suspect on March 18 after a work truck was reported stolen at knifepoint in the 3600 block of West 11th Avenue.
Central Lane 911 received the initial call at approximately 11:59 a.m. from a person who reported that their Toyota Tacoma work truck had been taken during the incident. Officers responded to the area and began searching for the vehicle.
The truck was equipped with live tracking technology, which allowed officers to locate it on the Chambers Connector. Authorities were able to stop the vehicle and take the suspect into custody at 12:12 p.m.
Police did not immediately release details regarding the suspect or potential charges, noting that additional information would be provided once it became available.
Following the incident, officials reported that the roadway was temporarily closed but later reopened. Motorists had been advised to avoid the area during the police response, with traffic diverted to nearby routes.
