Vehicle-pedestrian crash at Royal and Berntzen Road leaves one teen hospitalized
Eugene, OR – At 6:07 p.m. on November 25, Central Lane 911 dispatch received reports of a vehicle-pedestrian crash near Royal Avenue and Berntzen Road involving two juvenile pedestrians.
Eugene Police and Eugene Springfield Fire responded to the incident.
One of the pedestrians, a 14-year-old female, did not require medical transport.
The other, a 14-year-old male, was transported to a local hospital and was potentially to be airlifted to a Portland hospital for further treatment.
The 29-year-old female driver of the Kia Optima involved remained on scene.
The Eugene Police Department’s Major Collision Investigation team was activated, and the investigation is ongoing.
The intersection of Royal Avenue and Berntzen Road was closed for several hours.
