Eugene Springfield Fire rescues woman from vehicle in Willamette River
Eugene, OR – Eugene Springfield Fire crews responded Sunday afternoon to a vehicle that had entered the Willamette River near Beltline in Eugene.
The call came in just after 1:30 p.m. on June 1st, reporting that a vehicle had accelerated into the river with a woman trapped inside as it floated away.
Ladder 11 from the Santa Clara station and Boat 5 from the Gateway station were dispatched.
Firefighters aboard Boat 5 rescued the woman, who was then transported by Medic 11 for evaluation.
The rescue operation was supported by Lane County Sheriff’s drone and Search & Rescue teams.
