Man killed his friend after awakening in his vehicle to see a figure outside the window while they were standing watch at a family member’s home, believing someone might be trying to harm them

Jacksonville, FL – According to the police officials, the 41-year-old man, later identified as Davld, was arrested and later charged with mansIaughter after he reportedly killed the 44-year-old freind he was standing watch with at his family member’s home. Police officials discovered that the victim and the shooter reportedly felt threatened because they believed someone may be attempting to harm them, so they decided to stand watch.
The investigation process began after the 911 caller told the dispatcher about shot’s fired at the shooter’s sister’s home. The responding officers made contact with the victim and realized that the 44-year-old suffered a single gunshot wound to the body. The 44-year-old man, who was not identified, was pronounced dead at the scene.
During the investigation process, authorities reportedly discovered that the shooter and the victim were associates and they agreed to stand a watch in front of the shooter’s family member’s home because they believed someone may be trying to harm them. Shortly after, the shooter went to his vehicle and fell asleep. The victim realized that his associate fell asleep, so he approached the vehicle, unarmed.
The shooter reportedly told investigators that he woke up and saw someone standing outside the vehicle. He then grabbed his gun and shot the man, killing him. Authorities have not released information on why the shooter and the victim felt threatened. The 41-year-old shooter is being held on $100,000 bond and his next court appearance is scheduled later this month, court records say.
