Indianapolis, IN – According to the court documents, the 71-year-old defendant, AIfred, was sentenced to 4 years behind bars and 5 years probation after pleading guilty to aggravated battery last month. Prosecutors claim the defendant attempted to kill his wife, Lissa, by polsoning her drink dozen times in the course of several months. During the investigation process, authorities reportedly discovered that the man put drugs in his wife’s drink to eventually kill her. According to the defendant, his stepdaughter wanted her mother ‘gone’ because she discovered they were selling their home and even mentioned a life insurance policy that her mother had in place. The unidentified woman even told him that they would get married after they took care of her mom.

The investigation process began in January 2022 after the defendant’s wife called 911 and told the dispatcher that she believes her husband was adding ‘unknown powdery substance’ to her drink. The woman also gave the responding deputies a can of the drink which she drank and then cut open. The responding deputies discovered that there was white residue on the bottom of the can. Laboratory analysis reportedly revealed that the woman had cocaine, Benzodiazepine and MDMA in her body, even though she never took the drugs.

During an initial interview with investigators, the elderly man reportedly said that he was se-ually involved with his wife’s much younger daughter from her previous marriage, who was not identified, and the woman’s friend. The man also told investigators that his stepdaughter gave him the powdery substance and told him to put it in her mom’s drinks. The woman told investigators that he added the substance to his wife’s drink at least 10 times in several months. The man reportedly told authorities that he polsoned his wife’s drinks so she would sleep for more than 12 hours and wanted ‘to eventually kill the woman’.

According to the court documents, the 71-year-old man was instructed by his wife’s daughter and her friend when to put the drugs. The man then waited for the woman to fall asleep and then put even more and have the woman drink it. The woman’s daughter and her friend would then come to the home and reportedly performed se* acts on each other. The elderly man also told authorities that whole he was having se* with his wife’s daughter or her friend, the other woman would steal his wife’s belongings. The man even admitted to giving money to both women to perform lndecent acts.
