Eugene Springfield Fire engineer and National Guard MEDEVAC unit conduct training at EUG airport

Eugene, OR – According to the officials, Eugene Springfield Fire Engineer Armstrong, along with his Oregon Army National Guard MEDEVAC unit, conducted a training session at the EUG airport with their HH-60M Blackhawk.

The training involved collaboration with Lane and Linn County Search & Rescue and the Lane County Sheriff’s Office.

The National Guard plays a crucial role in assisting local agencies with wildfire and victim rescue responses.

During the visit, Engineer Armstrong provided the ARFF crew with a comprehensive tour of the Blackhawk aircraft.

Such impromptu training sessions are vital for ARFF personnel, as they help familiarize them with various aircraft, including those that are not frequently seen at EUG.
