Driver with child passenger arrested for DUII after crash at River Road and Beltline
Eugene, OR – According to the police officials, the crash occurred around 9:41 p.m. Saturday night.
Eugene Police Department officers responded to a crash at River Road and Beltline.
Callers reported a Dodge Charger had crashed and the male driver, 29-year-old Garrett Taylor, had been intoxicated and left the scene.
He was last seen walking northbound on River Road, possible near Hunsaker Road and River Road.
Call details also included the man’s young child had been with him in the car and had been injured.
Officers found the Charger damaged, and in the ditch parallel to the westbound Beltline onramp from River Road.
They checked the area but did not find the driver. They learned the child had been picked up by his mother and his injuries did not require medical treatment.
Taylor was arrested the following day and transported to Lane County Jail on charges including DUII, Reckless Driving, Reckless Endangering, and Fail to Perform Duties of Driver.
