26-year-old man arrested after aggressive incident at Skinner Butte Park
Eugene, OR – Eugene police arrested 26-year-old Samson Cole Evans following an incident at Skinner Butte Park on November 5.
At approximately 8:45 p.m., callers reported that Evans was intoxicated and acting aggressively. He reportedly opened the door of a vehicle, punched a woman in the arm, spat on the driver, and banged on the vehicle’s window and side as it drove away.
Officers located Evans near the Campbell Center, finding him sleeping in a grassy area. When approached, he resisted arrest, grabbing at the neck of one officer and the leg of another. Officers used a taser to safely take him into custody.
Evans was transported to Lane County Jail and lodged on charges including two counts of harassment, disorderly conduct, and resisting arrest. A sergeant coordinated a hotel stay for a family associated with Evans through the Eugene Police Foundation Community Cares fund.
