Louisiana – A Louisiana parent was arrested and booked into the Sheriff’s Office jail last week after police say she kiIIed her 1-year-old chiId, AceIynn, inside their home in Louisiana. She is charged with first-degree murder in connection with the child’s death and is being held on a $10 million bond. Louisiana authorities have described the case as an intentional act, and the investigation remains active as law enforcement continues to gather information.

According to police and witness accounts, the incident occurred on the last day of last month at the family’s residence. Officers with the local police department were called to the home shortly after 8 p.m. and found that the young child had been shot. The 1-year-old child was pronounced dead at the scene, and law enforcement quickly took the mother, 28-year-old Kirstin, into custody.

Investigators have been working to piece together the circumstances surrounding the fatal shooting. Initial reports from police and local news outlets indicate that the mother was at home with her two young children — the victim, who was 1 year old, and a 2-year-old sibling — along with the children’s father, BradIey. The father told Louisiana authorities he heard a loud boom coming from inside the home and rushed to the source of the sound. When he arrived, he found the mother of his children holding a firearm and his youngest child lying nearby with a gunshot wound. The older child was reportedly crying for help.

The man provided a firsthand account to police and media, describing the harrowing moment he discovered what had happened. He recounted that as he ran into the room, he heard his older child call out, “Help me, Daddy,” while the baby lay shot. The man also told Louisiana authorities that the mother of his children made a statement to him at the scene saying, “I just sent our baby to G od,” which he reported to police. He also claimed she said, “Now I gotta get her.”

Responding officers from the local police department secured the scene, took the woman into custody without further incident, and notified the Louisiana Department of Children and Family Services. The agency took immediate custody of the surviving 2-year-old, ensuring she was removed from the home and placed into protective care.

In the days following the shooting, authorities continued their investigation by interviewing witnesses and reviewing statements from those present in the home. Police have not publicly disclosed a clear motive for the shooting, and investigators are expected to consider all available evidence, including witness accounts and any statements made by the woman, as they build their case. The local police department has also asked anyone with additional information to come forward to assist with the inquiry.

As the legal process moves forward, the mother is expected to appear in court for further hearings related to the charges against her. The investigation is ongoing, and authorities continue to gather evidence and interview any additional witnesses to determine a full understanding of the events that led to the tragic death of the 1-year-old child.
