Training Chief Chesnut sworn in to lead Eugene Springfield Fire Training Team

Eugene, OR – Eugene Springfield Fire recognized Training Chief Chesnut during a swearing-in ceremony as he stepped into his new leadership role.
Chesnut now leads the department’s Fire Training Team, which collaborates with the EMS Training Team to provide instruction for new recruits, continuing education drills, and training for operations staff.
Department officials acknowledged the challenges of the position and expressed gratitude for Chesnut’s willingness to step up after Battalion Chief Frost rotated back to the line.
They congratulated him on his new role and emphasized the importance of the training division in maintaining the department’s readiness and effectiveness.
